The Trail to Boerne, TX

As mentioned in my last post, Blake's New Job, our two person, one dog Farrar household needed to pack the apartment in Dallas and move south to, small town, Boerne, TX. Blake needed to move down to Boerne and into our new apartment two weeks before I did, so I could finish my job at the Museum and he could start his new adventure!

It was a two and a half week long transition and we COULD NOT have done it ourselves,

we WOULD have died,

actually we would have needed counseling after,

so praise the Lord for moving dollies and friends!

(We found out early in our marriage that when moving new furniture into our apartment in Dallas the constant maneuvering and heavy lifting really tested us and from that moment we knew that moving wan't our "thing." Because of this we thought it would be perfect to now give every new married couple a Dollie for their wedding gift.)

It should really be called a relationship saver. Newlyweds, don't know what's coming.

So we thank all of our friends and loved ones who helped us make the month long transition from Dallas to Boerne, TX a success!

Cameron (Sulley) and Lauren (Jiffy) Brown gave us all our their Uhaul boxes that they used when they moved to Dallas and thank goodness, because we used EVERY single one of them!

Blake's parents, Newt and Lorie, came from Tyler to help us pack all day on a Sunday. Then the next day Newt drove our truck, Lorie drove their car , while Blake drove the moving truck and unpacked in Boerne that same day!

Then our sweet friends Joe and Emily Fulcher were so thoughtful to come and help the packing adventure!

Newt was the official packer of the truck!
Joe and Emily, our Thursday date night friends!

 Goodbye Apartment #508

While Blake was down in Boerne, I was blessed to stay with Neal and Jessica Anthony! They allowed Big Boy to stay too and it worked out perfectly! They also have Vizsla name Eisley, so the two of them were quite the pair. I stayed with the Anthony's for the two weeks and it was a blast getting to spend extra time with Jessica.

Blake and I  met half way one weekend in College Station for Katelyn's Graduation!

Brother and Sister are both officially Aggie Grads!

Then it came to the Saturday I was officially leaving Dallas to drive to my hubby! So of course Jessica and I went to Mcalisters for one last lunch visit before I hit the road. As I was pulling into the parking lot, Tamara, my car, seemed to just stop.

The alternator went out.

So the rest of the afternoon the Anthony's stayed by my side.

The Ford Focus in shame while the Anthony's stand in support.

Two hours later and the Focus was ready to go, however, it was too late to take the five hour trek to Boerne, so I stayed with the Anthony's one more night, before heading out to my man in the morning!

Sunday morning hit and as the sun was waking up the day, Big Boy and I were headed south to end this 2 1/2 week long separation from my husband and call Boerne home.

Big Boy is the best traveler...hands down
Five hours later and a shameless stop at Mcdonalds and we were home!

Welcome to Apartment #104

Thanks again and again for all our friends that helped us with a smooth transition down to south Texas!

Blake's New Job

Blake and I have now been married for 9 whole months and it has been an amazing!

We started our journey in Dallas, Texas and as I write this we are currently living in the grand old city of Boerne, Texas. Which is about 20 minutes Northwest of San Antonio.

Its a strange sounding town and people try to call it Born, or Beyornay, but it is said Bernie like your old uncle Bernie.

How we got here you ask? Well sit back and we will tell you the whole story.

Blake and his best friend Joey Bellington have dreamed of owning a Ranch Real Estate company since college, but never thought it would ever become a reality.

UNTIL they contacted the President of Whitetail Properties, a Ranch and Hunting brokerage based out of the state of Illinois. At the point of initial contact Texas was not on their list of 17 states that this giant Ranch and Hunting Brokerage covered.

So Blake and Joey decided to change that and took the initiative to suggest that Blake and Joey head up the Texas Branch of this established company.

After many phone calls, much prayer, and a couple visits, the boys did it, they made their dream a reality and become official employees of Whitetail Properties.

(Did I mention this company even has a TV show on the Sportsman and Outdoor Channel! They use their episodes to educate how to grow and maintain mature deer and they use their listings to show you how to manage and hunt well.)

I might have rehearsed that a couple times.

Blake and Joey then had the opportunity to choose, in the whole state of Texas, where Whitetail Properties Texas Headquarters would be. Ideas were on the table, but we obviously had to follow the deer and the best ranch and hunting properties, so we found our home in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas.

Work officially started May 1st and Blake went down with all our stuff, with a lot of help from our friends the Fulchers and his parents, and lived there for about three weeks until I could join him at the end of May. When I finished my job in Dallas at the Museum of Nature and Science.

It is now only July and Blake and Joey already have one agent and two listings!

Exciting things are happening in the Farrar household and it is a giant blessing to have a husband who loves his job and looks good doing it.

I mean real good, especially with his broker boots!

*If you have a Ranch to sell or are looking to buy one, we have some awesome opportunities for you!
